The RSES Data Science theme leads several initiatives. For example, the Data Surgery sessions provide a forum for PhD students to discuss and learn about cutting-edge data science tools and resources, and the Data Science Research Forum seminars showcase a wide range of data-themed research problems and new tools. The RSES Data Science theme also leads initiatives to generate and foster connections between RSES scientists interested in data sciences and scientists from other institutions and other fields.
